Katie serves as the Children’s Director for Renew, in addition to being Admin. She graduated from Mid-Atlantic Christian University (formerly Roanoke Bible College) in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Minor in Counseling. Katie acquired her licensure for Pre-K through 6th grades from Elizabeth City State University, and she holds an Associates in Applied Science for American Sign Language, also from MACU. With 19 years of experience in public education, including several years in private preschool thrown in the mix, Katie is well-versed in the field. Outside of navigating the adventures of homeschooling the three daughters she shares with Greg, Katie enjoys beach trips with her family, reading various genres of fiction and nonfiction, mastering various meals and baked goods from scratch, and spending quality time with their dogs, Rooney and Rivers.
